The electric vehicle EVSE tester is for VDE 0100 testers to test charging stations (charging mode 3) for electric cars. This adapter can be used with the PCE-ITE 55B installation tester or with most other standard VDE 0100 testers. Thanks to the LEDs for voltage detection on the 3 phases, it can be quickly determined if there is an installation error.

The PP State rotary switch can be used to simulate the current carrying capacity of the charging cable. The current carrying capacity is simulated with various resistors in the electric vehicle EVSE tester, which are connected between PP and PE conductors. Various vehicle states can be simulated using the CP State rotary switch. The vehicle states are simulated with different resistors connected between the CP and PE conductors.

An external load can be connected to the socket. This output is only intended for measuring purposes and offers the option of checking the function of the electricity meter. The electric vehicle EVSE tester can also be used to simulate a PE fault (earth fault). The electric vehicle EVSE tester is supplied in a device bag. There is also an optional adapter for wallboxes with a type 1 connection.

Electric Vehicle EV Tester / EV Test Instrument with a measuring range of 0 … 1000 A AC/DC / Frequency measurement
Small and compact design / Inrush current measurement / Ready for immediate use /
25 mm wide clamp opening / Optionally with ISO certification

The electric vehicle EV tester is a measuring device for the precise determination of electrical currents. With a current clamp diameter of 25 mm and a measuring range of 0 … 1000 A AC/DC, the electric vehicle EV tester covers a large part of all measurement tasks. The current measurement is carried out inductively with the electric vehicle EV tester. This means that the test objects to be measured do not have to be switched off beforehand. In this way, the flowing current can be measured during operation. The measured value is displayed numerically and graphically using a bar chart. The compact design of the electric vehicle EV tester also enables the measuring device to be easily stowed away in work bags.

Electromobility is playing an increasingly important role. It is therefore important to know the current flow in the lines. The wallbox of an electric vehicle can be monitored on the primary and secondary side with the electric vehicle EV tester. The electric vehicle EV tester can also be used in workshops to check electric vehicles. The starting current of the electric motors or the on-board current can be checked with the electric vehicle EV tester.

In addition to the normal measuring mode, the electric vehicle EV tester can also measure the inrush current. An inrush current measurement with the electric vehicle EV tester is particularly necessary when starting up motors, such as ventilation systems, in order to rule out possible sources of error. In addition, the electric vehicle EV tester has a low-pass filter function. This function can be used to determine currents in the low frequency range. Currents up to a frequency of 1 kHz are measured by the current clamp. The electric vehicle EV tester is used, for example, to measure the current of low-midrange speakers (woofers).

Electric Vehicle EV Tester / EV Test Instrumentfor EV measurements – special features for electric and hybrid vehicles

In connection with the motor vehicles, the abbreviation EV stands for electric vehicle, which means for the vehicles with the electric drive. For the measurements of the electrics in conventional and electrically driven motor vehicles, a current clamp must be suitable for direct current measurements and it should be as compact and robust as possible because of the usually very limited space.

In contrast to the conventional vehicles with combustion engines, the vehicles with electric drives require much higher voltages and amperage for the powerful additional electrical consumers. For this reason, different voltage levels are used in the electric and hybrid vehicles, whereas in conventional diesel and petrol vehicles all consumers are usually supplied via the 12 volt (or 24 volt) battery. The electric vehicle EV tester for measurements on electric and hybrid vehicles should therefore ideally be able to precisely measure both the low current levels, e.g. of vehicle lighting, window regulators and cockpit displays, as well as the high current levels along the electric drive train.

Depending on the design of the electric vehicle EV tester, the measurement results for direct current can be influenced to a greater or lesser extent by previous magnetisation and by other lines located close to the measuring point. It is advantageous if the current clamp automatically compensates for this by an offset check or can simply be set to zero before the actual DC measurement.

Since alternating current from the mains is primarily used to charge the batteries of the electric vehicles, converters are installed in the vehicles to convert alternating current into direct current. The required charging time depends on both the charging station and the equipment of the electric vehicle. In the case of the charging cables, as in the case of the other cables with connectors, the individual wires are not freely accessible. In order to be able to measure the individual wires with the current clamp during the charging process, special adapters are available. For example, there are measuring cases to which the charging cable is connected and which are connected to the charging station via a suitable connection cable. The electric vehicle EV tester can then measure the alternating current on the individually tapped in the case connecting lines.

Car measuring device PCE-DSX 20-ICA incl. ISO calibration certificate with trigger input

Portable, stroboscope for the professional in operation / Bright xenon flash / LED display / External trigger input / Setting via buttons and rotary knob

The stroboscope is usually used for speed or vibration measurement or for motion observations. This stroboscope has a small design and is light in weight. This allows the stroboscope to be conveniently used even when measuring in hard-to-reach places. The device is the optimal tool for the practitioner. The flash rate is set via a rotary knob on the stroboscope and displayed on a digital display. Continuous operation is easily possible with the stroboscope. The device also has a trigger input, which allows external triggering or synchronization. The supply voltage is ensured by mains cable. The half or double speed can be selected via the keyboard.

Applications:

This stroboscope is the ideal tool for service technicians and maintenance personnel of industrial equipment and machinery. Check the speed, the synchronization or make mistakes visible that you can not see with the naked eye – optically bring processes to a standstill. The stroboscope has been used for many years in many industrial processes, but also in research a. Development proven:

– At bottling plants and labeling machines of breweries and mineral water producers

– On paper and printing machines: The stroboscope is used here to detect the register at speeds of more than 60 m / min. One looks at the web before winding with the stroboscope). The stroboscope makes it very easy to visualize even the smallest process errors, such as pulsations. The following picture was taken on the wire of a paper machine. All strips and suckers below the sieve running along these strips worked perfectly, except for one. Of course, this was not visually visible. With the stroboscope, the source of error could be detected by very fine marks on the finished paper:

– On weaving machines in textile factories – in the automotive industry – on high-speed machines and motors: The stroboscope is essentially used to determine the speed, as shown in the picture on the right. Often this serves to check or adjust the speed of large high-speed rotors with the data from the process control system or specified on a digital display speed value, which usually comes electrically from the drive. In addition, the shaft shaft is checked for concentricity. Thus, the stroboscope is the optimal tool for inspecting motors, shafts, belts, cylinders … just what rotates in operation.

– At ventilation systems in the air conditioning industry – on strip rolling mills in the steel industry – Wherever rotating parts are used or in high-volume production processes, the stroboscope is the perfect tool.

Note on accident prevention when using the stroboscope: All objects that are brought to a standstill with the stroboscope move at high speed. Therefore always keep a safe distance and do not touch the test object.

General information on stroboscope use:

The adjoining pictures show you how to use the stroboscope correctly to generate correct values or an optimal freeze frame or what cause, behind eg a double speed (instead of 110 rpm it is 220 rpm). Of course, the correct procedure applies generally, even if only the example of a drive and a drive shaft are treated here

When assessing only one belt drive, an optical standstill is easy to achieve (any prominent point can always be found here on which you can adjust the stroboscope).

When looking at several V-belts with the stroboscope, you should, if possible, eg during repair or maintenance shutdown of the machine mark a reference line with a chalk perpendicular to the running direction over all belts.

Example of measurement on a wave:

With a well or optimally centered shaft with impeller, you always measure the actual speed at optical standstill. However, if the impeller has an axial impact or an imbalance, then you will measure twice the speed with the stroboscope, for example. This fact often leads to misjudgments in local operations.

Clamp meter with true rms measurement / AC current measurement / Voltage measurement / Temperature measurement / Bluetooth interface / Rubberized housing / Display hold / Automatic switch-off / Test lead max. 48 mm / Many measuring functions

The clamp meter PCE-DC 50 is a measuring device for measuring currents of up to 1000 A AC / DC. In addition to current measurement, the clamp can also measure and test voltage, frequency, duty cycle, resistance, continuity test, capacitors and diodes. The enclosure diameter of the clamp is 48 mm. Thus, you can also perform measurements on cables with a large cross-section. Thanks to the NCVD function, it is possible to use the measuring clamp to check contactlessly whether a voltage is applied to a cable.

This clamp has an integrated Bluetooth interface. Via this Bluetooth interface a connection to the PC or the smartphone can be established with the measuring pliers. This allows the measured data of the measuring clamp to be stored and analyzed. If the PC does not have a Bluetooth interface to connect the measuring pliers, a suitable Bluetooth adapter is included in the delivery.

Another special feature of the measuring clamp is the measurement of temperatures. Two type-K thermocouples can be connected to the measuring clamp and read out at the same time. Here, temperatures of up to 1000°C / 1832°F can be measured. The housing of the measuring pliers consists of a robust plastic, which is additionally coated with a rubber coating. Thanks to the additional rubber coating, the measuring pliers can easily withstand impacts.

The car measuring device tests 12 V and 24 V starter batteries. The car measuring device checks the condition of the car battery via the battery voltage in the charging cycle, when starting or when idling. The car measuring device uses the battery voltage to determine whether the starter battery is still functional. The car measuring device also shows the status of the battery in % on the LC display and makes a recommendation as to whether the starter battery should be replaced if necessary.

During the battery test with the car measuring device during the starting process of the car, the voltage drop of the battery is measured by the test device. The voltage difference provides information about the condition of the 12V or 24 V battery. In addition to checking the battery, the voltmeter can also test the alternator from the car. All measured values and test results are displayed on the LCD. The car measuring device uses Kelvin clamps on 70 cm long measuring leads to measure the battery voltage.

ABS, engine control, driver assistance systems: cars are now equipped with more and more electronics. This makes them even more dependent on the car battery. A powerful battery is therefore a crucial factor for a safe and reliable drive. Over the time, however, the battery may become weaker or fail completely. Therefore, to prevent a breakdown, the performance of the car battery should be checked regularly. This is particularly easy and efficient with the car battery tester from PCE Instruments.

With the user-friendly car battery tester, the batteries with a voltage of 12 volts can be comfortably and quickly tested. At the beginning of a car drive, the battery is especially stressed. In addition to the starting process, the on-board electronics also requires energy. In order to be always able to enjoy the full comfort from the beginning of the drive, the voltage of the battery should be checked at regular intervals with the help of the car battery tester. Especially in cold temperatures or when a car has not been used for a long time, the car battery tester should be applied.

To determine the condition of the battery effectively, the car battery tester has various test modes and a multilingual menu. The car battery tester is suitable for checking the batteries of type DIN, KIS, IEC, EN, GB, SAE and MCA and is suitable for the starter and charging circuit measurements. The manufacturer has equipped the car battery tester with special clamps, the so-called Kelvin clamps, which the user can attach directly to the battery during the test. A cable connects the coloured terminals to the tester (red cable for plus, black cable for minus). The user is intuitively guided through the menu via the large LC display of the car battery tester. The display shows the recorded values fast and rood readable.

The battery is optimally charged at 12.7 volts. From the charging capacity of 11.6 volts, however, it becomes critical, the battery should be charged urgently. If the car battery tester shows 10.5 volts, the battery is completely empty and must be replaced. However, the problem exists already then when the charge level is of less than 50 percent. Charging a low-capacity battery can cause long-term damage. To prevent this condition, car drivers should regularly check the charge level of the car battery using a car battery tester. In this way, with the help of the car battery tester, the battery can be charged timely enough and saved from permanent damage. To obtain a reliable result, the driver should not check the charge level immediately after the drive. In this phase, the meaningful reliable results cannot be obtained. A check by means of the car battery tester should be carried out during the rest state. Therefore, the user should do the test at the earliest two hours after the last use.

The PCE Instruments car battery tester helps preventing breakdowns. A regular battery check with the help of the car battery tester is on old or rarely used vehicles is of particular importance. The compact and handy shape of the car battery tester guarantees flexible use. The car battery tester is therefore ideally suited for applications in the car workshops, companies with a carpool and for experts. Because of its uncomplicated handling, the car battery tester is also ideal for use in the private sector, as the driver can quickly and easily detect a critical charging range of the battery and prevent the impending failure of the car battery.
