Reliable and accurate results with the Gauss Meter
Due to the development of the Gauss meter, the measurement of the various magnetic properties has become a feasible task, providing very reliable and accurate results. In many industrial branches (aviation, chemical, machine-building), laboratory, electrotechnics, during testing and control, it goes about magnetic field. There is no other way of measuring it, but using the correct device with the correct sensor. The advantage of the modern Gauss meters is that they allow carrying out the measurement in a non-destructive way, and almost anywhere where the magnetic field is created, they allow controlling the strength of the magnetic field a well as the quality of the demagnetization, if it is required. Axial (3-axial) and transverse probes used in the Gauss meter for the measurements are the most typical probes which should be selected depending on the type of the surface or object to be measured. In those cases when the magnetic field is measured “in the air” (small openings, gaps, distances between the magnets), application of the transverse probe is meaningful, since it is enough to bring the sensor to the surface or area that should be measured. Hall effect is what that type of sensor is based on.
The measurement principle is based on the arising of the transverse potential difference in the current conductor, which is located in the magnetic field. The probe of such sensor is rectangular and is perfect for open space measurements. Axial probes are mostly used for the surfaces and general measurements. It is easy and convenient to bring them to the surface where the magnetic field is present.
